It’s always great to hunt down new recipes online; but, sometimes they don’t necessarily provide us with easy, everyday go-to recipes. These AIP, paleo and primal recipes are exactly that!

Once in awhile, I’ll find a product I love that is not quite paleo. These products are either gluten free or primal. In case you don’t know, primal is paleo, with dairy products added to the mix. I eat a mostly paleo diet, with the occasional primal meal, and the rare gluten free treat.
I’ve had quite a few people ask me about my diet recently. About a week ago, I posted a photo of my lunch on Instagram. My lunch had jasmine rice on the plate. I was asked if I eat rice on my diet. My answer was, typically no. However, on the rare occasion, I will eat a bit of jasmine rice or white potato. Occasionally, I will also eat or drink a food that is not primal or paleo, simply gluten free.
For me, by eliminating gluten, some dairy, and most nightshades from my diet, I’ve been able to heal my leaky gut. Omitting these foods has healed my stomach ulcer and chronic IBS. Because of this, I’ve been able to add certain foods back into my diet without problems. However, I’m not willing to add them back on an everyday basis. So, I enjoy them once in a while.
While blogging for the Gluten & Allergen Free Expo, I met these wonderful representatives for Green Valley Organics. They offered me a sample of the company’s Lactose Free kefir, yogurt, and sour cream, which I tasted. Their products were not only delicious; but, they did not cause a bad reaction in my belly.
Last week, I found these awesome products at my local grocery store. I was beyond thrilled. I purchased a few yogurts and the sour cream. Since then, I have eaten a couple of the yogurts, and added the sour cream to one of my dishes. I have had no ill effects from eating any of the foods.
So, that brings me to my recipe for today. This is the dish I created, using the Green Valley Organics Lactose Free Sour Cream. It’s creamy and so delicious.
In my opinion, and I may be the only one that feels this way, the paleo diet is about eating whole, healthy foods. We are to go back to the unprocessed foods our ancestors ate. But, we, as humans, have evolved. We have to go back to the basics, while still being able to live in the modern world. My ancestors ate rice and potatoes. They are staples in the Cajun diet. By never eating them again, I feel as though I’m actually going against my nature. The key is to enjoy them once in awhile.
