Here’s a quick, easy tuna slaw wrap recipe for you! It’s perfect for a healthy paleo lunch option. Cranberries add a tart and sweet flavor which mixes well with the saltiness of the tuna and the creaminess of the avocado.

Woo-hoo! One more day left of The 21-Day Sugar Detox! I tell ya, doing this detox, has really made me appreciate the little things. I never knew how much I enjoyed different varieties of fruit. I can’t wait to make my juices and smoothies with watermelon, kiwi, strawberries, and blueberries. It’s not that I miss the sugar taste. I miss the variety!
Many people feel as though the paleo diet doesn’t offer much variety. I have not found that to be true. I mean, we have a huge variety of fruits, vegetables, fats, and meats. The problem, for me, came in when I had to cut out nightshades. But, if you can handle eating nightshades, there are so many foods to choose from.
Another complaint I hear is there is too much preparation and cooking involved. While I do agree, you can always do most of your preparations one or two days a week. I always try to cook extra, so I can have some for lunch the next day. You can also pack lunches for a week. Or, freeze a week’s worth of dinners, after one day of cooking. If you really want to do it, you’ll find a way. There are also quite a few companies making quick, paleo approved snacks and meals. While I don’t believe you should base your entire diet on these products, they’re fine for once in a while. I know there are also meal delivery businesses out there which offer paleo meals. If it’s difficult for you to prepare meals, you may want to look into that.
Truth is, going paleo is not easy. But, I’ve found it does get easier as you progress. Plus, the benefits far outweigh the hardships. It’s been well worth it for me!
What did I eat on day 20 of The 21-Day Sugar Detox?
Day 20 lunch on The 21-Day Sugar Detox Pan Seared Liver Salad
Lunch was some leftover liver from a couple of nights ago on a bed of arugula and romaine lettuce, with cucumber, avocado, balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
Day 20 dinner Double Burger with mushrooms and red onions on a butter lettuce bun.
For dinner, I grilled a couple of grass fed beef patties, sauteed red onion and mushrooms, and put them all on a butter lettuce bun, with a couple of squeezes of spicy brown mustard. Yum!
Well, tomorrow is my last day of The 21-Day Sugar Detox. I think I’ll be eating one meal outside of the house. Usually, we go to lunch after church. I guess I’ll have to see what I’m in the mood for at dinner. Most of the time, I plan my meals; but, for tomorrow, I decided to wing it. We’ll see what happens!

Wow! I can’t believe I’m over halfway done with The 21-Day Sugar Detox. It’s gone by so quickly. I’ve had so much going on, I haven’t even had time to realize how I’m feeling.
The detox has certainly given me extra energy. I also feel as though my hormones are better regulated. I haven’t been as moody over the last week and a half. Unfortunately, my skin rashes have not improved. There could be a few reasons for this. My stress levels have been really high as of late. Also, the trees and bushes are flowering, causing allergies. And, of course, it could just be an effect of my body detoxing. I’m just keeping an eye on it. Hopefully, they’ll improve over the next few days.
If you’re on The 21-Day Sugar Detox, Whole30, or another detox, I would like to know some of your experiences. I would especially like to hear from those of you with autoimmune diseases. What have your experiences been? Are you noticing an uptick in any symptoms? Or, relief? Please leave a COMMENT below with your answers.
At lunch, I made this incredibly tasty Tuna Broccoli Slaw. It is now one of my favorite lunches. I served it alongside a cup of delicious beef bone broth.
Day 11 Lunch Paleo Tuna Broccoli Slaw
Paleo Tuna Broccoli Slaw
½ bag Broccoli Slaw ( I like Trader Joe’s. It’s Organic.)
Place all ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well. Enjoy!
Serves 1 hungry person (ME!) or 2 not so hungry people. To serve more, simply double recipe.
At dinner, I really wasn’t very hungry. I’d eaten that entire bowl of slaw for lunch, after all. I made a simple sandwich with Applegate roast beef, bacon, sauteed mushrooms, and avocado. Then, I topped it with a fried egg, fried in bacon grease. Yum!

I hope you’re getting some ideas of foods you can eat while on The 21-Day Sugar Detox. Any leftovers can be refrigerated or frozen. Sometimes, I’ll make big batches of foods and freeze them for the following week. This way, I don’t have to make a complete meal every night. That’ll save you time and effort.
