Some of you who have been following my blog for a while will remember my adventures from last year’s Chicago GF&AF (Gluten Free & Allergen Friendly) Expo. If you weren’t around then, you can read about it here. Well, it’s time for this year’s Chicago GF&AF Expo on May 2 and 3, 2015. And, I’m even more excited for this year’s event!
Why am I so excited? Because this year, I’m not just going as someone who eats paleo. I’m going as someone who eats the AIP paleo. I love a good challenge!
With the growth of the paleo movement, I know I will no longer be the lone paleo in the room. I even noticed Paleo Magazine will be one of the vendors in attendance. I’m taking that as a sign that I will have more likeminded peeps to chat with. Plus, it’ll give me a chance to raise awareness for the AIP.
Now, the timing of the Chicago GF&AF Expo is really interesting for me. As it works out, I will just be returning to Chicago after attending Paleo f(x) in Austin, TX. I’ll pretty much be going from one event that’s all about paleo, to one that’s just starting to accept the paleo lifestyle. I look at it as a chance to expand gluten free companies’ products and services to the autoimmune paleo community. After all, most of us start our healing journeys by going gluten free first. I know I did.
If you’re in the area, I would love for you to join me at the Chicago GF&AF Expo! It will be held at the Schaumburg Convention Center on May 2nd and 3rd, in Schaumburg, IL. If you’re not familiar with Schaumburg, it’s really a lovely place. Those of you who read my blog know I’m not a big fan of driving or traveling through most cities. I have no problem driving around Schaumburg. It’s a very safe, clean city. It has earned my seal of approval. LOL!
The GF&AF Expo features lots of vendors, such as Bob’s Red Mill, doTerra, Find Me GF, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, Freedom Foods, and more. You’ll be able to enjoy samples from some of the best gluten free and allergen friendly companies out there.
You can also attend classes, given by leaders in the gluten free and allergen free community. One of my favorites is Carol Kicinski, founder of Simply Gluten Free magazine. Some of the topics for this year’s GF&AF Expo include “Gluten-Free Belly Be Gone”, “Get Rid of Toxins- in your Diet and in your Life”, and “Learn to be free of chronic allergies”. I know I’ll be attending a few of these talks!
