Today, I’m so excited to be able to share a wonderful new paleo cookbook with y’all, All-American Paleo Table by Caroline Potter of Colorful Eats. Plus, I’m sure you’ll be excited about me giving one of y’all a free copy, for your own enjoyment.
All-American Paleo Table features classic homestyle cooking, made completely grain-free. The recipes include a collection of gluten free, primal, and paleo dishes for many of the events and holidays, we Americans celebrate. Each chapter reflects a particular holiday or event, including A Farmer’s Breakfast, Old Fashioned Diner Favorites, Game-Day Eats, The Thankful Table (Thanksgiving), and A Very Merry Christmas to All, just to name a few. It’s perfect for the upcoming holidays!
While thumbing through my review copy, I saw so many recipes for dishes I wanted to dig into. The first recipe that caught my eye was Hot Dogs On A Stick. I used to love corn dogs before going paleo. I knew it would be the first recipe I would cook. But, then I needed something to go with them; so, I settled on good ol’ Onion Rings. It was a match made in heaven!
Over the holidays, I’m planning on making several more recipes, Pumpkin Mousse Cheesecake, Cider Mill Donut Holes, Garlic Bread Bites, Duck Fat Fries, Chocolate Coconut Cream Pie, and Crab Cake and Bacon Scramble Hash, just for starters. I think I’ve got my dessert table covered!
Now, for all my AIP buddies, there are not many AIP compliant recipes in All-American Paleo Table. There are a lot of eggs, nuts, and some dairy used throughout the recipes. If you’ve made some reintroductions, like I have, you will be able to find more recipes you can enjoy. If you’re creative in the kitchen, you may be able to switch out some ingredients. For example, for one of the recipes that calls for almond flour, for which I have an allergy, I will try using Otto’s Cassava Flour instead. It’s worked in other experiments I’ve done. Hopefully, it will work again.
