Please refer all of your AIP (Autoimmune Protocol) questions to these bloggers.

In these times of internet overload, it can be hard to find bloggers and websites you can trust for healthy AIP recipes and information.  This is a list of people you can trust.  I have split the list up into recipe only and recipes plus information.  I also thought you might want to know if the writer dealt with a particular autoimmune disease or group of diseases.  These are all people I interact with on a daily basis.  They are all amazing women. 1. Hello Tara,
I notice all of your friends that have autoimmune issues, but do you have any that have done the AIP with Type 1 Diabetes? I have been a diabetic for over 46 years and didn’t even realize I had a autoimmune issue. I ‘ve tried the Dr. Myers detox program and lost 32lbs. and I feel so much better in my body and will continue to eat correctly and eliminate many of the foods on the AIP Paleo Food List. Do you have any individual blogs on Type 1 Diabetics that have tried the AIP? I’ve used cumin, anise, nutmeg, fennel, celery, coriander, dill, mustard seasonings in a few recipes on the Dr. Myers , could this be a reason I’m still feeling tired? and what do you think about supplements?

    1. Hi Angela, to be completely honest, I haven’t had any experience with anyone who has done the AIP with Type 1 Diabetes. But, I’m not a nutritionist, and I don’t take clients. Many of the nutritional practitioners who specialize in autoimmune issues, probably have more experience. I urge you to contact either Angie Alt or Mickey Trescott from They are both knowledgable about autoimmune nutrition. I personally follow the AIP according to Dr. Sarah Ballentyne, Dr. Myers’ approach was much too lenient, in my opinion. As for supplements, I don’t take or believe in many. I take a powdered magnesium, and infusions from my doctor of B vitamins and vitamin D. I get most of my nutrients from food. Since you have Type 1 Diabetes, you really have to be careful. Dealing with experts will be critical to your health. Sorry I couldn’t be much help; but, since I don’t work as a certified nutrition therapist, I don’t want to advise you the wrong way. Good luck!
I wish you lots of healing!
